Man - Where has Paul Hogan been? Still wrestling crocs in Australia? I kid you not. I haven't seen Hogan since Lightning Jack.

While he does have a couple more recent films here and there, it looks like the actor is looking to make a small comeback with the help of Shane Jacobson, Paramount and its Australian partner Transmission Films.

Paul Hogan and Shane Jacobson have been cast for Charlie & Boots, a comedy that was penned for the duo by helmer Shane Murphy and Stewart Faichney.

The project has been budgeted at $6 million and follows a father and son who travel from Victoria to Cape York to fulfill their lifelong ambition to fish off Australia's northern tip. The projected was funded using Australia's new 40% producer offset and some skrilla from new agency Screen Australia at its inaugural funding meeting in Brisbane on Monday.

The film will have a wide release in Australia in the second half of 2009.
