Guy Ritchie
What kind of Sherlock Holmes can we expect to see from Guy Ritchie? Though I can only see a dark crime caper in his future, Ritchie does have some idea on what to expect from the character.
Guy Ritchie Talks Sherlock Holmes
While talking to USA Today, Guy Ritchie gave some of the first details of what sort of Sherlock will be arriving to the silverscreen.
"It will be a very big production, visceral and intellectual," Ritchie says. "His brilliance will percolate into the action."
The expected 2010 Warner release will be set in the olden days, he says, but the emphasis will be as much on Holmes' physical prowess as it is on his keen powers of deduction.
"His intellect was as much of a curse as it was a blessing," Ritchie says. "He was a deeply layered character."
While Ritchie gives no indication on what sort of villain we can expect -- or who for that matter -- he does admit that there will be a love interest based on Conan Doyle's Irene Adler.
Just in case you've been living under a rock, Robert Downey Jr. has been cast to play the title role.
