The Strangers Poster The Strangers
Well, well. It looks like Rogue is perfectly happy with how well their horror The Strangers did at the box office. Considering that the film relied more on eeriness than dialogue, a script for a sequel should be simple to create.

The Strangers Sequel Coming

Horrors are hit or miss, and The Strangers was definitely a hit. Riding the wave of success, Rogue Pictures has picked up Bryan Bertino -- the dude who wrote the first installment -- to come back and write the sequel.

Bryan Bertino also made his directing debut on the film, but that position is still up in the air.

Though we can only provide assumptions, it is expected that Liv Tyler, along with several of the original villains, will return. Production is set to begin early 2009.

What's Rogue hoping to come from the sequel? Well, considering that fact that it looks like we're going to have a Saw installment every Halloween until 2150, The Strangers could turn into a lucrative franchise. And they're cheap to make!

Budgeted at a miniscule $9 million, The Strangers went on to earn $54 million at the domestic box office. Rogue has only begun to release the film on the international market.
