You know that male voice you hear on just about every trailer? Well, at least every trailer for action films or sci-fi epics? You know, the dude who sounds like he's been smoking since age 1?

Yes - him. Well, his name is Don LaFontaine and we have now been told that the er, "movie trailer voice over expert has passed away after complications with Pneumothorax.

Don LaFontaine Passes Away at 68

Don LaFontaine's agent announced that he died Monday, Labor Day, at Cedars-Sinai. The Hollywood talent has provided voice-overs for over five-thousand trailers.

A perfect example of LaFontaine's signature style can be seen, or should I say heard, below:

Don LaFontaine's voice was so infamous that, in his later years, he began to spoof himself.

Not that he needed to, as comedian Pablo Francisco already had his own stand-up routine based entirely around LaFontaine's voice.

Movie trailers will never be the same...
