Dexter - The Second Season
A reminder of why I still pay to have Showtime, Dexter - The Second Season is a great installment in the series and, even if you haven't seen Season One, you can catch an episode here and there and still have a great time.
DVD Review: Dexter - The Second Season
Whoever's idea it was to pick up Michael C. Hall to play Dexter Morgan was genius. While some of the plot elements feel slower for the show's second go, Dexter Morgan's personality keeps the pacing as entertaining as one could hope.
I got to upconvert the DVD on my Blu-ray player and it looks just fine. Nothing to write home about, but definitely a step up from some of the other television series on DVD.
The DVD's featurettes seem to promote Showtime and the network's other series more than it does Dexter. Fortunately I wasn't too concerned with the extras.
I have now watched Season Two a second time -- once on TV and once on DVD -- in preparation of the show's third season and I can't help but be excited for what's to come. This show is easily one of the best on television and, if you have yet to catch any of Dexter, race out and buy or rent both seasons before Showtime kicks off the third season September 28th. Trust me - you'll blow right through them.
