Simon Pegg
It is no secret that Simon Pegg's popularity is continually on the rise. While I have been a fan since Shaun of the Dead -- I know many of you were long before even that -- the actor didn't break onto the (wide) domestic scene until Hot Fozz. Yeah, I know he had a hilariously brief cameo role in Mission: Impossible III before that, but not many people seem to remember it.
The actor has since gone on to star in Run Fatboy Run and the upcoming How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. If that's not enough to impress, Pegg is Scotty in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek. To help keep this momentum going, the actor might be turning to Steven Spielberg.
Pegg and Frost the Thompson Twins
According to TimesOnline, Simon Pegg's recent visit to Steven Spielberg might have landed him his next big-budget gig.
“Steven’s smoking a stogy, cap on head, like he’s always been since I was a baby,” Pegg says, shaking his head in wonder. “I shook his hand and chatted about films. He gave me the mo-cap [motion-capture] camera, and I had a play around with it. Then he said, ‘Hey, maybe you and Nick Frost could play the Thompson Twins.’ In Tintin. A Spielberg movie. To work with him is beyond .. . ” He trails off, lost for words.
Strangely, the report doesn't focus on the offer save for that paragraph. It does, however, discuss just about everything Simon Pegg; both past and future. So check it out in its entirety here.
