I Am Legend
Now we know where Warner Bros. is heading. Back in January it was rumored that the studio was thinking up a sequel to I Am Legend. While it was hard to imagine where the film could go without its title character, it has now become clear: Warner Bros was thinking prequel.
I Am Legend Prequel
One nice thing about a prequel, it means that Will Smith can come back to reprise his role as scientist Robert Neville. Francis Lawrence will also return to direct.
It turns out that Smith, Lawrence, Akiva Goldsman and James Lassiter have been holding regular meeting the past few months to create a necessary pitch for the prequel. Now that they have a detailed outline ready, Warner Bros. has picked up D.B. Weiss to write the script.
Though not much is known on the outline, we can assume the the prequel will cover the final days of humanity as we know it thanks to a man-made virus that results in a zombie slash vampire epidemic. I don't know about you, but I can't imagine this being depressing.
