Talk about being tied up with a studio. Johnny Depp has not one but three huge projects ready to go for the Mouse House.
Johnny Depp All Disney
First up is Pirates of the Caribbean. Johnny Depp has agreed to reprise his role in a fourth Pirates installment. Considering that both Depp has repeatedly stated his desire to return to Jack Sparrow and Disney can't ignore the franchise's 2.6 billion at the box office, another installment comes as no surprise.
Besides, Disney is still trying to find the same greatness of the original.
Up next is The Lone Ranger. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Depp has agreed to star as Tonto in the film.
Anything else? Well, I did say three huge projects. As rumored, Johnny Depp has agreed to play the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland. Since I couldn't possibly think of anyone else landing the role nor can I refuse the attraction between Depp and Burton, this casting announcement is not exactly all that shocking either.
Alice in Wonderland is scheduled for a 2010 release and will use performance capture technology similar to that of Beowulf. Before you ask, yes, it will be in 3-D also.
So what do you think? You like Depp at Disney, or were you hoping he'd branch out?
