Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins
Before we get to director James Cameron's comments on Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, let's first cover the assumption. When Sam Worthington joined the production of this new Terminator trilogy just about everybody came to the conclusion that James Cameron must have given the production his blessing. Since Sam Worthington recently worked with Cameron on Avatar, it was assumed that it was Cameron's influence that got Worthington in with Terminator Salvation. Not so, says Cameron.
Terminator Salvation Unblessed by Cameron
The National Post caught up with James Cameron and, amongst their many questions, there was one dealing with Terminator Salvation. Does Cameron have any involvement at all?
Q. Are you involved at all in the Christian Bale production of Terminator 4?
It could be a big steaming pile or it could be brilliant. Sam Worthington is in the Avatar and the new Terminator and he likes the script, but I never saw it. There was no blessing involved.
With Christian Bale involved, I can only hope that this does NOT turn out to be a "steaming pile."
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins opens to theaters on May 22nd, 2009.
