It's not an original story, sure, but at least it's not a comicbook adaptation. Millennium Films is planning a remake of the 2004 French flick Le Convoyeur and they have Eric Bana in mind to star.
Eric Bana Getting Armored for Remake
Seeing that they are domesticating the story, Millennium Films plans to call the remake Armored -- but that may likely change thanks to a Screen Gems drama with the same title -- and film the project in Michigan.
Directed by F. Gary Gray off a script by David Ayer and Andrew Kevin Walker, Armored follows a man who takes a job for an armored car company and ingratiates himself with his co-workers, who trust him enough to make him part of their heist plans. Unbeknownst to his colleagues, the man had his own motives for taking the job.
Eric Bana was in negotiations to star in Armored way back last year, but then got distracted by Star Trek. Since Star Trek is expected to be huge, Bana still has some obligations with the project. The only way the actor can stick with Armored is if the film can change around its start date, which is currently scheduled for April 1st. Bana is committed to promoting Star Trek for Paramount, as the film is due out on May 8th.
