Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
I think by now I've told each of my friends how much it was rumored that Johnny Depp was getting paid for the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean installment. What can I say, that made for great gossip. As icing on the cake, I'd really impress the buds by also throwing out the rumor claiming Tim Burton will direct and Sacha Baron Cohen will co-star. Heads were spinning on the golf course!
Now I got to go tell them that none of this was true.
Pirates 4 Rumors Debunked
Terry Rossio, who was involved with co-writing the first installments, has popped up at one of the more unlikely locations to announce that just about everything we've heard that has anything to do with Pirates 4 is untrue; save for the fact that Johnny Depp is returning for the role.
For the record, none of the recent Pirates 4 rumors have any truth, including the so-called record 50 million dollar payday for Depp.
Some pretty funny stuff, though. Sacha Cohen? Tim Burton? Studios are way too protective of their franchises for that sort of thing.
