Though not nearly as cool as her recent pickup on Alice in Wonderland, Anne Hathaway is keeping her to-do list full by joining the cast of the Warner Bros. romantic comedy The Fiance.
Anne Hathaway for The Fiance
To be directed by Burr Steers off a script by Etan Cohen, The Fiance will have Hathaway play a woman who cancels wedding plans and breaks up with her seemingly perfect fiance so she can try to figure out who she really is. Her meddling parents try to patch things up between the pair, making it impossible for her to move on.
The comedy was originally setup over at Disney. Considering that Hathaway is the studio's fallen princess, she didn't come aboard until after Disney dropped it. Disney must not have realized the project's popularity, as four studios immediately showed interest after the Mouse House dropped it.
Warner Bros. hopes to start production on The Fiance this March, so Hathaway can get back to the Get Smart sequel in timely fashion.
Hathaway is currently on set of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
