Guy Pearce is reuniting with his own kind -- Aussies that is -- to star in David Michod's first feature titled Animal Kingdom.

Starring Guy Pearce, Ben Mendelson and Joel Edgerton, Animal Kingdom is a crime drama centered on a 17-year-old who tries to survive a criminal family with help from a cop (Pearce).

Animal Kingdom also stars veteran actress Jackie Weaver. The film will be the first of five to be funded by Screen Australia. Other projects due to receive funding are Being Dead, Lou, I Love You Too and Greg Woodland's vampire love story, Pangs.

Guy Pearce has a few projects coming our way including The Road, In Her Skin, and Bedtime Stories.
