Remember when Dan Fogler was an unheard of name when buzz of Fanboys first kicked in? Now he's done what - 10 films? Yes, the wait for Fanboys has been ridiculously long, and The Weinstein Company is now asking us to wait a little longer.
Fanboys Gets Pushed (Again)
Money is supposedly running thin over at TWC and the latest bulk shift of release dates over at the banner isn't making good impressions. While one would assume the shifts have to do with money woes, Harvey Weinstein has finally spoken out on the subject to LA Times -- confirming the push of Fanboys to February 6th, 2009 -- claiming that the move has nothing to do with money in the bank.
Luckily, I managed to get Harvey Weinstein on the phone late today, and he had an answer for everything. He contends that all the late-breaking moves are simply ways for the company to take advantage of various marketing, promotion and scheduling opportunities.
So why the push of Fanboys?
Fanboys: Harvey says the movie has been moved to January "so we can do a major promotion with Comcast, who's arranging for a big advertising tie-in for us on the film."
