When 2008 kicked off New Image made an agreement with Sylvester Stallone to get him back into a couple action films that weren't titled Rambo or Rocky. Just when we're looking to the new year, the studio has begun to fulfill that promise.

Sylvester Stallone will not only star in but also direct The Expendables, a film that follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator.
Sounds like an action-packed feature? Well, it most definitely should, considering that Jason Statham and Jet Li will also star to help bring up the action quotient.

Stallone and Nu Image became close during filming of Rambo, which he also helmed and co-wrote.
