If Roland Emmerich really wanted to make a The Day After Tomorrow sequel he should have just told us. Taking advantage of a Mayan prophesy, the 10,000 BC director returns with something similar but still strikingly cool.

Never before has a date in history been so significant to so many cultures, so many religions, scientists, and governments. 2012 is an epic adventure about a global cataclysm that brings an end to the world and tells of the heroic struggle of the survivors.
Since weather effects typically gives moviegoers a big stiffy -- Emmerich gets a raging boner -- I guess we should have expected this sort of teaser. Looks cool, but so did Day After Tomorrow and 10,000 BC. For now, I'm cautious.
