Directed by Jonathan Liebesman off a script by Chris Bertolini, Battle: Los Angeles revolves around a Marine platoon's encounter in the battle on the streets of Los Angeles against an alien invasion. Eckhart has been cast to play the platoon leader.
Yes, I know the plot could go either way -- badass or retarded -- but having Aaron Eckhart in the lead role definitely boosts confidence.
While Eckhart is probably now best known for his role of Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight, others might remember him for his ridiculous charm in Thank You for Smoking.
