I'm already starting trouble over Twilight. I don't know the books except that there's a big Team Jacob/Team Edward rivalry. From seeing the film, I totally think Bella should go with Jacob. At least Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob, agrees.

Taylor Lautner is Twilight's Jacob

"Absolutely, of course," he said. "Yeah, I totally agree with you. She's just young and doesn't know what's right but she'll figure it out. [Edward]'s so confusing and tense. Jacob is just so friendly. It's almost like they're family. Yeah, that's the real man for her, I agree. That's my favorite part of the series is the competition that goes on. It's not just team Edward, team Jacob. There's team Alice, team Emmet."

That's also a lot of pressure from the fans, even though Lautner's casting was met with almost unanimous approval. "The fans, they're just so in love and dedicated to the series that they have this mental picture of what Jacob's supposed to look like and how he's supposed to act. So it's hard for them to accept somebody that's cast as their beloved Jacob but it got me a little nervous at times of course. For the most part, I was so stoked and excited to be a part of it that I really wasn't even thinking about that."

Lautner became a fan after he got the part. "I hadn't even heard of Twilight. When I found out I was cast, I read Twilight and I just wanted to focus on Twilight because my character is so different from Twilight to the rest of the series. So I read Twilight and then as soon as I got back from filming I started reading the rest of the series."

Since Jacob wolfs out and becomes a bigger part in the subsequent stories, the filmmakers did think ahead when they auditioned Lautner. "For mine they used some of the scenes that were in the first script and then they also used quotes from the second and third books. The fourth wasn't out yet but they just put some of the quotes from the books onto a paper and I auditioned with that. I did a chemistry read with Kristen and we got to do some scenes from the second and third book."

That said, Lautner tries to remain present about Twilight. "It's so hard not to get excited and think about it but I try not to. I know we're all trying to focus on Twilight right now when it's getting ready to come out so I'm trying to block it out of my mind and focus on Twilight but it's hard."

Twilight opens to theaters on November 21st.
