Since it is impossible to start a day without one adaptation announcement, we are curious to see producers acquiring material on their own. Gale Anne Hurd has purchased the screen rights to the graphic novel Gearhead for her banner Valhalla Motion Pictures.
Gale Anne Hurd Acquires Gearhead
Created by Dennis Hopeless and Kevin Mellon, Gearhead is a four-issue series from Arcana Comics that revolves around a young woman who leaves the drag strip to team up with a group of rebels to fight the corrupt superheroes who govern the U.S.
For those of you who have never heard of Hurd, the producer has a knack for producing comicbook adaptations. She recently helped release The Incredible Hulk and has been seen on set of the upcoming Punisher: War Zone.
