Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
20th Century Fox has released a second teaser trailer for their upcoming Blue Sky CG-animation, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, and, as you might have already assumed, the teaser is all about that little Sabertooth rat named Scrat. As it just so happens, it turns out there are females in this species too.
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs Teaser Trailer
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, to be fully produced in 3-D, is the latest installment to the hit Ice Age franchise, which has grossed more than $1.2 billion around the world. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs will be directed by Oscar-nominated Carlos Saldanha, who directed Ice Age: The Meltdown and co-directed Ice Age. The film is being produced by Academy Award-winning Blue Sky Studios, the creative force behind all the Ice Age films and the upcoming Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who.
While some of you might think that the new trailer for Ice Age 3 shows nothing new -- I wouldn't expect any of this to appear in the film -- what Fox is really showcasing is Blue Sky's updated animation process. Watch closely to the female rat as she prances around and blinks. The added detail to how hair reacts to the surrounding environment can definitely be seen here. With a medium as competitive as CG-animation, all the animation studios are trying their best to improve their A-game.
Now just watch closely and you can see the mating call of Scrat.
