Taking a break from trying to adapt novels through her own banner, Hilary Swank has been cast to star in The Resident, a thriller from Hammer Films set to begin shooting next May.

In The Resident, Swank will play a doctor who moves into a Brooklyn loft. Becoming suspicious that she's not alone in her new home, she discovers her landlord is a stalker.
And speakign of landlord stalkers, have you heard of this actual hotel? I digress...
Antti J. Jokinen will make his feature directing debut on the film off a script both he and Robert Orr wrote. Scribe Erin Cressida Wilson is being credited for the script's finalized version. Though it is Jokinen's first feature, the director has tons of experience behind the camera with both music videos and multiple TV series.
Swank can next be seen opposite Richard Gere and Ewan McGregor in Fox Searchlight's Amelia.
