Keanu Reeves
I guess if Tom Cruise can do it so can Keanu Reeves. While Cruise tackled the samurai era with The Last Samurai, Reeves plans to return to the period with 47 Ronin.
Keanu Reeves 47 Ronin
Penned by Wanted-scribe Chris Morgan, 47 Ronin is based on the true tale of a band of samurai swordsmen who avenged the death of their master in 18th century Japan.
The story gets interesting, however, thanks to two things. First, Keanu Reeves will play one of these swordsman. How they plan to pull that off, one can only guess. Yes I know that Reeves is half Asian, so maybe a little eye makeup and, whalla.
Second, the film will tell a stylized version of the story and it will be sure to include some fantastical elements. The battle scenes are expected to be violent to the likes of Gladiator.
The film is expected to enter production next year once a director is found. For now, you can catch Keanu Reeves next week in The Day the Earth Stood Still.
