WALL•E
So maybe WALL•E does have a shot at Best Picture after all. After being named the film of 2008 by Time, the Pixar animation has received another nod from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
WALL•E a 2008 Favorite for LA Critics
One cool thing about the Los Angeles Film Critics Association is that the group is typically all over the map. No, that is NOT a bad thing. Not only does the assoc. select great specialty films such as There Will Be Blood, the group also has no problem praising films like ET, Star Wars and now WALL•E.
If they're that cool, did this select group of critics think anything of The Dark Knight? You betcha! Heath Ledger drew the nod for Best Supporting Actor and both Christopher Nolan and The Dark Knight got runner-up for Best Director and Best Picture respectively.
In short, this group is pretty with it and they think WALL•E is the sheez. While I felt The Dark Knight was better, I understand their angle.
