Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins
Don't let John Connor trick you. Though the character is confident enough in the feature trailer for
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins to claim that the war ends 'tonight', Halcyon has a different idea. Since Terminator Salvation was supposed to kick off a new trilogy in the franchise, it should come as no surprise that the banner is already working on the fifth installment. I guess John didn't make that meeting.
Fifth Terminator in Development
Derek Anderson and Victor Kubicek of Halcyon Co. have recently confirmed that they are hard at work on the fifth Terminator film. McG, who helmed the recent installment, is also working with the duo; suggesting that he will direct the sequel.
McG, who has an open fear of flying, was able to make it to the Dubai Intl. Film Festival and, upon arrival, predicted that the Middle East could be the sequel's locale for production.
Though Anderson and Kubicek announced that another Terminator trilogy was in store, they originally intended to wait for the release of Terminator Salvation (next summer) before proceeding to the sequel. Positive reaction to the film's recent trailer has caused the duo to give the next installment the green light ahead of schedule.
"We feel the time is now to start shaping the next part of this," Kubicek said.
Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins opens to theaters on May 22nd, 2009.
