Colbert Christmas
I know, what kind of Colbert fan am I? It took me until days before actual Christmas to finally review the DVD that’s been on the free market since Thanksgiving. But then as a member of the entertainment media, I’ve been destroying America for years.
On DVD: Colbert Christmas
The bonus features are indeed the greatest gift of all: more Stephen Colbert. The video advent calendar is simply 25 more Colbert riffs. The alternate endings could only have been shot for this DVD. There’s no way they were going to air those, but they are funny for die hard fans, especially the bear one.
The rest are cute little touches. A bonus song was clearly cut for a reason but it’s nice to hear more. A video yule log could let you simulate Colbert’s fake fireplace and an optional laugh track would add to the schmaltz of an old fashioned Christmas special, should you need that added touch for 45 minutes.
