Watchmen
Just when I was about to begin bitching and moaning about a slow news day we've been alerted to a new -- cough* Japanese *cough -- Watchmen trailer that provides a nice selection of new footage.
Japanese Watchmen Trailer
One aspect of the Watchmen graphic novel that has been given too much detail in the past trailers is the whole global conflict aspect. Yes, we see bits and pieces of Vietnam and a tank getting blown to bits, but what about the present-day story? Okay okay, the film isn't exactly present day -- note Nixon -- but it doesn't touch on anything such as the Cold War. This Japanese trailer for Watchmen does take us around the globe a bit more -- notice shots of Mother Russia -- and does give the character Nixon some more attention.
I don't know why Warner Bros. was holding off on showing this sort of footage earlier, as it looks fantastic.

Watchmen opens to theaters March 6th, 2009.
