The Sylvester Stallone-direction actioner The Expendables continues to become more ensemble with the inclusion of Mickey Rourke. Ensemble, as in a collection of action stars, but that could change shortly.
Mickey Rourke for The Expendables
Mickey Rourke will join Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture and Dolph Lungdren as one of the title characters in The Expendables.
Rourke will play an unscrupulous arms dealer who becomes the go-to guy for a group of mercenaries planning to topple a South American dictator.
Forest Whitaker and Ben Kingsley are also in talks to join the cast. If this were the case, we could officially stamp the cast as 'ensemble'.
Good to see Rourke and Stallone together in front of the camera, as Rourke credits Sly for helping him get back out of his career trough with Get Carter.
Rourke is currently working on 13, the remake of the French thriller 13 Tzameti.
