Kieren Culkin
While I'm still convinced the Culkin parents took Macauley's DNA and mixed it with a splash of goth to create Kieren Culkin, it looks like the successor is now the one getting the gigs.
Kieren Culkin for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
According to HitFix, Kieren Culkin has been picked up to play Wallace Wells in Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's popular series of "Scott Pilgrim" graphic novels, the new movie finds the title character (played by Michael Cera) having to defeat his girlfriend's seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to win her heart. In the books, Wells is Pilgrim's gay roommate (they share a bed even though Pilgrim is heterosexual). Unlike Pilgrim though, Wells is considered the more responsible of the duo and also know for his pithy observations.
Though Kieren hasn't appeared onscreen since 2002 with Igby Goes Down, he is working to once again build up his filmography. Other films we can soon expect to spot him in include Lymelife, which debut's at this year's Sundance, Margaret, Three Stories About Joen and Paper Man.
With the addition of Kieren, the cast of Scott Pilgrim is up to three with Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Production is expected to begin this spring in Toronto.
