Where Marvel is axing some -- cough, Samuel L. Jackson -- they are adding others. A little bird flew over to Variety claims that actress Emily Blunt is in talks to play a key villain in the Iron Man sequel.
Emily Blunt Rumored for Black Widow
It is told that Marvel and Jon Favreau are on the search for an actress to play the femme fatale Black Widow. It just so happens that Emily Blunt has (supposedly) recently been approached, suggesting that they are looking to her to fill the part.
If picked up, Emily Blunt will become Natasha Romanoff, a Soviet superspy who doubles as Black Widow, a beauty in a skintight black costume enhanced by high-tech weaponry.
While it troubles me that Marvel is loading this film with so many villains, it is always nice to have a good looking female running around in 'skintight' clothing. (right now fanboys are nodding)
Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell are also in negotiations to play villains.
If you have yet to hear of Blunt, expect to see her in the Hollywood spotlight once Universal Pictures begins promoting The Wolf Man.
