The Dark Knight
Usually when we hear one thing/update about a possible sequel for The Dark Knight the rumors begin to explode for the following week. Let's see if this is one of those updates that kicks things off.
The Dark Knight Sequel Arriving...
While talking to Courier Post, producer Michael Uslan describes how glad he is that That Dark Knight has received as much (awards) attention as it has, showing moviegoers that comicbook adaptations can not only be faithful, but good as well.
"All of the attention we've received is proof positive that comic books are something people should no longer look down their noses at," he says. "Comic books are as legitimate a form of literature as plays or novels."
The producer goes on to discuss his early-born love of comicbooks and concludes his interview with a bit of new information involving the next Batman installment. Though we don't know exactly what's going on with the sequel, it would seem that the producer has enough information to predict a theatrical release date.
Uslan will be onboard as executive producer for the "Dark Knight" sequel, which he estimates will be theaters by 2011. As for the identity of the next round of Batman's supervillains and love interests, Uslan remains tight-lipped. "It's one of those deals where if I told you, I'd have to kill you," he says with a chuckle.
If this turns out being the case, I guess we will begin hearing some official announcements shortly.
