Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
It looks like Jerry Bruckheimer is taking advantage of a little thing known as synergy. The release of his next production, Confessions of a Shopaholic, will have a little easter egg packaged with it.
While I don't know how many gamers will be catching the chick flick, they will have the added perk of catching the first poster for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time in the actual film.
Prince of Persia Poster Hidden in Shopaholic
The good people at MTV Movies Blog have learned that the first poster for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time will become first available with the release of Confessions of a Shopaholic.
Mega-Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has hidden the poster inside his latest film, “Confessions of a Shopaholic”, appearing as a Times Square advertisement about halfway into the film. It joins posters for a number of other Bruckheimer productions, including the upcoming “G-Force”, though “Persia” is unique in that it marks the first time the films’ artwork has been seen anywhere.
Prominently featured on the poster is lead actor Jake Gyllenhaal in full-costume as Prince Dastan”
We've seen advertising such as this before. JJ Abrams used his imaginary brand, Slusho, as part of the viral marketing for Cloverfield. If your remember, the teaser trailer showed a character wearing a Slusho t-shirt, which later unlocked a network of websites. Fans also spotted a Batman vs. Superman poster in I Am Legend, giving hope that a feature film might one day be made. So far, no luck.
