It looks like Kevin James is sticking to gigs that put him into the job market; both figuratively and literally. After landing a hit with Paul Blart: Mall Cop, the actor will now star in The Zookeeper for MGM.
Kevin James for The Zookeeper
To be directed by Frank Coraci off a script by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, The Zookeeper centers on a lonely zookeeper who decides to leave his job because he can't meet a girl, leading to intervention by the zoo's animals.
MGM purchased the spec script almost a year ago paying $2 million against $3 million. Todd Garner, who came up with the idea, always figured that Kevin James would fit the part of title character.
Not that Kevin James needs the work. The actor recently signed onto an untitled comedy for Columbia Pictures that will also star Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider and David Spade.
