Universal Pictures went shopping for a comedy and picked up The Adventurer's Handbook in a seven-figure deal. To fill their bag, they got Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman as part of the package.

Akiva Schaffer is in negotiations to direct the comedy, which was penned by Hill, Matt Spicer and Max Winkler. The trio were inspired by the book by Mick Conefrey. While you may not have heard of Schaffer, the helmer has directed plenty of SNL episodes and was the guy behind the camera for Hot Rod.
The Adventurer's Handbook follows a quartet of pals go on a global adventure, inspired by the hardcore stories of explorers whose tales are chronicled in Conefrey's book.
