Life of Pi
If you're a novel and you've won awards and you have NOT been acquired yet, well, that's a miracle. One such novel on the adaptation block is Yann Martel's Life of Pi. Fox 2000 acquired the screen rights and now have it mind for Ang Lee to direct.
Ang Lee Looking to Direct Life of Pi
Ang Lee is in talks to direct Life of Pi, an adaptation that revolves around a youth who is the lone survivor of a sunken freighter and winds up sharing a lifeboat with a hyena, an injured zebra, an orangutan and a hungry Bengal tiger.
You might remember this project as it has already had a couple attempts at a script including a draft from M. Night Shyamalan. While the story seems like it would be right up Shyamalan's alley, Lee will supervise a new script if he joins the production. Guess the guy's not a fan of The Happening.
