Eliza Dushku
Eliza Dushku is showing some initiative. Hoping to create a biopic on the iconic photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. the actress has acquired the screen rights to the individual and has also gone forth and hired a director.
Eliza Dushku Finds The Perfect Moment
Dushku will have two-time Sundance grand jury prize winner Ondi Timoner direct what is currently being called The Perfect Moment.
The film will chronicle Mapplethorpe's career from his rise to fame in the 1970s for his portraits of socialites and rock stars until his death in 1989 at age 42 from complications arising from AIDS.
While Timoner has plenty of experience behind the camera, this will be her first feature film. It turns out that she has reason to explore this feature and move away from her typical documentaries.
"He is an artist who could not help but express his vision of the world, despite the tempest it spawned," Timoner said. "A pariah to some, a hero to others, Mapplethorpe's talent combined with his irreverence toward social norms made him a cultural lightning rod."
