Suicide Squad
A lot of remake ideas are being thrown around today and, as expected, pretty much all are bad. One film being pulled out of the library is Total Recall, the sci-fi thriller starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Now I can only wonder why Hollywood feels the need to remake it.
Total Recall Remake
Original Films is teaming with Columbia Pictures to develop a, get this, 'contemporary' version of Total Recall. If you've seen the flick, then you know it follows a man haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. The man comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a despotic ruler controlling the production of air.
Considering that I saw the movie when I was incredibly young, here's what I remember: Three-titted lady, Sharon Stone biting the bullet, and Arnold suffocating on the martian surface. It was weird as hell, but still had enough box office pull to earn $261 million worldwide.
Columbia is hoping that improvements in special effects will er, 'refresh' the story and bring in more box office skrilla.
