Keira Knightley
While the title, Never Let Me Go, sounds more like a drama or chick flick, Fox Searchlight is actually building a sci-fi thriller around it. To get things started off on the right foot, Keira Knightley has been cast to star.
Keira Knightley for Never Let Me Go
Directed by Mark Romanek off a script by Alex Garland, Never Let Me Go follows a trio who grew up in a boarding school with no contact or knowledge of the outside world until they discover they are clones grown for the sole purpose of organ donation.
Just in case you were thinking you've heard a plot like this before, let me tell you that you have. Michael Bay tried such a cloning actioner with The Island. Though many won't agree with me, I heavily enjoyed the film.
Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan have also been cast.
Knightley, who I continue to have a crush on though she looked strangely man-ish in the last Pirates installment, has quite a few projects coming our way including The Beautiful and the Damned and My Fair Lady.
Never Let Me Go enters production this April in London.
