Jason Bateman is reuniting with Jason Reitman to film the adaptation of Up in the Air, based on the Walter Kirn novel. As you might have guessed, Bateman will appear in front of the camera while Reitman will direct.
Jason Bateman for Up in the Air
Starring George Clooney, the film follows a corporate downsizer who is obsessed with collecting frequent flyer miles at the expense of having a life. Bateman will play his boss.
Up in the Air is looking to be a quick gig, considering that Bateman plans on having the production wrapped in just about a month so he can move on and co-star with Jennifer Aniston in Baster.
It is Aniston, so I can't blame the guy for the sense of urgency.
Bateman, whose popularity continues to skyrocket, has a collection of films coming our way including State of Play, Extract and Couples Retreat, a romantic comedy also starring Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Kristin Davis and Kristen Bell.
Bateman is also working with director Joe Carnahan on the comedy Remarkable Fellows and, for those of you who were fans of the TV series Arrested Development, a feature film for that is also in the pipeline.
