The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
With Fox Walden now out of the pictures, 20th Century Fox and Walden Media have announced that the third Narnia installment, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, will be ready for theatrical release by December 10, 2010.

While Warner Bros is sticking with summer with its Harry Potter franchise thanks to the box office boost to be found there, Fox and Walden are hoping for exactly the opposite. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe opened during December 2005 and went on to rake in $291.7 million domestically.
Taking a stab at summer, the sequel, Prince Caspian, failed to compare with $141.2 million domestically. It should be pointed out, however, that both films did great overseas.
Looking at the facts, the studios concluded that Narnia was a winter franchise, and are hoping that the third film will end the decline in ticket sales. A good choice, considering that the slot currently has no competition.
