South Park: The Complete 12th Season
This is awesome. A season of South Park on Blu-ray, one of my many dreams realized. But do I remember any episodes from the show's twelfth season? Oh hell yeah!
On Blu-ray: South Park: The Complete Twelfth Season
First perk: The Twelfth Season of South Park has an amazing collection of episodes. Some of my favorites include:
"Tonsil Trouble": Cartmen gets AIDS. Awesome.
"Major Boobage": Hilarious while finding time to rip on the New York mayor. Awesome.
"Eek, a Penis!": Need I say more?
"Over Logging": No, not trees, the internet. Awesome.
"Super Fun Time": Probably one of my top five South Park episodes of all time. Definitely awesome.
"The China Problem": Because you don't shoot people in the dick. Awesome.
"Breast Cancer Show Ever": Watching Cartman get his ass kicked was bliss.
"About Last Night": Oceans 13 spoof meets Barack Obama. Awesome.
Now here's the real test. I have the last five seasons of South Park on DVD and they upconvert HORRIBLY on my Blu-ray player. Lines will be sharp and then blurry. But then sharp again, and back to blurry. I would have preferred them to remain blurry; the switch back and forth is effing annoying.
Sweet relief! South Park looks terrific on Blu-ray; the lines stay incredibly sharp! Another perk is that Comedy Central doesn't waste our time with commercials or intro scenes, as the Blu-ray cuts straight to the opening menu. Kudos to that.
