Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke Confirmed for Iron Man 2
According to EOnline, Scarlett Johansson will join the cast as Black Widow.
"Scarlett is thrilled to be a part of Iron Man," her rep, Marcel Pariseau, tells me.
Though what exact role Rourke was negotiating was a bit more up in the air, we're now being told that he will indeed play the villain Whiplash. Negotiations with the actor got held up a while back because Marvel Studios has quickly become the cheapest single entity in Hollywood. Surrounded by J-O-Os, that's a big claim, but it's likely true. Guess how much the studio supposedly offered Rourke the first time around?
A measly $250,000. Come on Marvel, this is an Academy Award nominee!
