Pinocchio
Disney's Sleeping Beauty Blu Ray showed the potential for all the old classics in the newest format. Pinocchio continues the tradition with articulate definition in clarity without any artificial color touches.
On Blu-Ray: Pinocchio
The colors used in Pinocchio remain pure but they look like the colors they had to ink and paint with back then. There are no supernatural digital neons.
With a full frame ratio, there is less emphasis on the elaborate backgrounds and more on the characters. You can see details in the background shading, and sometimes patterns that look like the actual canvas or cel, but mainly it sets off the solid, character colors against it.
The film spans many different locations each with unique detail, from Geppetto's woodshop to the bright, sunny town, to underwater, rain drenched captivity and that hellish donkey island. All of it is exemplified on Blu Ray.
