After being cast for The Company Men last fall, Ben Affleck has finally received some co-stars with the addition of Kevin Costner and Tommy Lee Jones.
Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones Join The Company Men
To be directed by John Wells off a script he wrote, The Company Men will have Affleck play a corporate hotshot whose Porsche and six-figure salary vanish after he gets laid off. Costner plays his brother-in-law, a salt-of-the-earth drywall installer who gives him a construction job. Jones plays a senior partner in the firm, a principled man who struggles with the greedy actions of his partners.
Costner should be able to fit the role in before he gets started on The One, a project he been working on for some time. The film, which he wrote with Dances With Wolves scribe Michael Blake, will feature Costner as a free-spirited man who inherits $3 billion, leading him on an adventure and an eventual collision with pirates in the Cayman Islands. Sounds strange, I know, but Costner is confident enough to also direct.
Jones is also hoping to get behind the camera. The actor is currently working up some investors to get rolling on Islands in the Stream, an adaptation of the Ernest Hemingway tale that Jones also wrote. Like Costner for his project, he will also direct and star.
