Green Lantern
Now here's a guy that's going places. Chris Pine first surfaced on my radar as a Neo-Nazi hitman in Smokin' Aces to only come back later and win some wine contest in Bottle Shock. Not the biggest roles, I know, but now he's not only a young James T. Kirk, but possibly Green Lantern. See what I mean? Going places!
Green Lantern Pining for James T. Kirk?
The good people at LatinoReview report that Chris Pine has been offered the part of Green Lantern. Seems about right, considering that the film is prepping to enter production this summer and Pine does have the look (and popularity).
Martin Campbell will direct the adaptation, which currently has a theatrical release set for December 17th, 2010.
Green Lantern was created back in 1940. The character began as Hal Jordan, a second-generation pilot who was later charged with the responsibility of defending a sector of the universe. Fortunately he is also the owner of a power ring. While the shiny object gives him strength, it also requires the utmost willpower and strength to wield it.
