Bryan Singer
Singer gave another genre a try, Valkyrie, it didn't work out as well it should've, though the film was perfectly fine, and now he's looking back to comicbooks. Or, at least New Regency hopes he's looking back to comicbooks.
Singer to Possibly Direct Freedom Formula
New Regency has acquired the Radical Publishing comicbook Freedom Formula: Ghost of the Wasteland for 20th Century Fox to distribute. Who do they have in mind to direct? You guessed it!
Michael Finch has been hired to write the script and, if everything looks good, Bryan Singer may just direct. The story does seem right up his alley.
Freedom Formula takes place in a future where fighter jets have been replaced by pilots who battle in racing exo-suits. The protag is a genetically engineered racer who learns his bloodline has the power to change society.
Singer does have some history with the franchise, as it was he and Radical principal Barry Levin who teamed on the four-issue comicbook series debut at last summer's Comic Con. Taking it to the next level, Singer and Finch can dive deeper into the comicbook's story.
"Mike Finch came up with an incredible take that goes deeper into the mythology of the source material," said Radical's Levine.
