Fox 2000 is out collecting gods and other mythical characters for their Greek fantasy adventure Percy Jackson.

Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan and Sean Bean have signed on to play Medusa, Chiron and Zeus, respectively. Kevin McKidd has also been cast to play Poseidon -- I love this casting move, by the way -- and Melina Kanakerides will come aboard as Athena. Logan Lerman and Brandon Jackson have already been cast to star.
If you've never heard of the story, Percy Jackson centers on Poseidon's 12-year-old half-human son (Lerman), who embarks on a quest across modern-day America to save his mother, return Zeus' stolen lightning bolt and prevent a deadly war between the gods.
In terms of action and special effects, I'm rooting that Percy fails and let's these gods go to war.
Expect the rest of the casting to happen quick, as the film enters production next month in Vancouver.
