After a few bumps in the road, Josh Brolin will have some more company on the set of Jonah Hex. Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up Will Arnett and Michael Shannon to join the adaptation of the DC comic.
Will Arnett and Michael Shannon for Jonah Hex
Directed by Jimmy Hayward, Jonah Hex follows Hex (Brolin), a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malkovich) who wants to raise an army of the undead to liberate the South.
Arnett will play a Union soldier who enlists Hex and is blindsided by the dirty fighting style of his enemies. The role is not inherently comic. Shannon plays Doc Cross Williams, the bizarre ringleader of a brutal gladiator circus event. The character might appear in sequels.
The cast also includes John Malkovich and Megan Fox.
Arnett can next be seen in When in Rome and G-Force. Michael Shannon received an Oscar nomination for Revolutionary Road.
