Gears of War
I have an X-Box 360, so why the heck don't I own a copy of Gears of War? Oh, that's right, because the internet takes up all my time. Gears of War represents one of the few upcoming video game adaptations that could actually be very good.
To report how well things are coming along, scribe Chris Morgan has some good things to say on the adaptation.
Chris Morgan Talks Gears of War
Chris Morgan caught up with MTV News and gave a staus up date on Gears of War. While discussing the adaptation he also admitted to a huge budget. (And who doesn't like that?)
[On the script]
“A draft went in and we’re talking about it now and we’re budgeting it out,” Morgan told MTV. “It’s looking incredibly good.”
“I think the gamer side is going to be thrilled with it,” said Morgan. “All the stuff you want to see, we put that in there and then we blow it out a little more, even. Now it’s just a matter of honing in on all of the character arcs and determining production types of things.”
[On the budget]
“It’s huge,” Morgan declared of the project’s scope. “One of the things they’re really talking about now is the budget of the film and how big of a spectacle this is going to be. My argument is, look at the underlying material. Look at the game and the scenario — the fact that the world is being taken over by the Locust, it has to be huge.”
Sound good? Maybe I'll compromise and hop online with Halo 3. No? Well, worth an effort.
