Katie Holmes
I don't know if I like the idea of Katie Holmes in a thriller, as I can't remember a single time when she's shown convincing distress. Well, maybe a couple seconds in Go, but that's it. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, however, does have a lot going for it, so maybe this is her breakout moment.
Katie Holmes for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
Miramax Films has picked up Katie Holmes to star in Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, a thriller that was scripted by Guillermo del Toro and Matthew Robbins. Del Toro will also produce.
The film is based on a 1973 ABC telepic about a young girl who moves in with her father and his girlfriend and discovers they are sharing the house with devilish creatures.
Since Dark has a tone similar to Latchkey's Lament, Guillermo Del Toro hired the short's director, Nixey, to helm; making Dark his feature directing debut.
