After a cool Italian trailer for Gamer that leaked nearly a month ago, we have finally received an official domestic copy.

Let me tell you why you should like Gamer. First off, it's got Gerard Butler; and everybody is loving him right now. Second, the film looks to feature some of the best urban warfare we've seen for some time. Third, this could be one of those rare 'video game' movies that is actually good. Lastly, the entire premise of the film, if they can pull it off, is pretty damn cool.
Butler plays a Slayer, an inmate on death row who is, thanks to technology, controlled by a video game player. Like a first person shooter such as Counter Strike, but the dude you're controlling is really alive. There's a lot more to it, as shown in the trailer below (via TrailerAddict).
Gamer is due out in theaters on September 4th.
